For the stars themselves could not outshine you,

my most beloved fire.

I could gaze at the sky in search of holy light

Or behold divine beauty in your eyes.

Fell me to fuel the pyre of your love

And I will fall to my knees in worship.

Wage holy war upon my heart

And I will relish in your divine retribution.

Barefoot in the kitchen, I touch faith,

Dancing in the moonlight,

So holy, so mortal.

I say my rosary in your name,

Praise dripping from my lips like sweet summer wine.

My Venus, bathe me in the aphros,

Let me fan you with the frond of a date palm,

And comb alabaster oil through your hair.

Offer me your absolution, my love.

Make me a believer.
